Our Environmental Efforts

The Tokiwa Cosmetics Group works toward global environmental conservation, the protection of biodiversity, and other challenges, as a part of our efforts to contribute to bringing about a sustainable society through our manufacturing.

Reducing CO2 Emissions

We are hard at work Group-wide to reduce the CO2 emissions from our factories worldwide.

Procurement of Raw Materials

The wood we use to make our pencils come from FSC-certified factories.
We are also an associate member of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), and are working to transition to the use of sustainable palm oil.

Packages Designed with the Environment in Mind

Our packages development and material procurement feature a focus on the three Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle), as well as efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and environmental burden through the use of biodegradable materials.

Measures toward Oceanic Plastic Pollution

We promote efforts to reduce microplastics and to use replacement materials.

Environmental Management

We have acquired certification in the ISO 14001 international standard for environmental management systems at our Ochiai Factory. We intend to maintain this certification, and to promote environmental activities Group-wide.
